Gun Trust Planning
With the constantly evolving nature of gun laws on both the state and federal levels, firearm owners are constantly trying to catch up to the current rules. One of the most important aspects of gun ownership that most people forget to consider is what happens if we become incapacitated or die. Often, we see that one half of a couple is a gun enthusiast but there spouse is not, or we see many situations where an owner intends to leave their firearms directly to children, siblings, friends, etc. Firearms are governed by multiple key laws that control possession and transfer of the property, and if you break the rules, you can find yourself in significant legal trouble without ever intending it.
A gun trust is a form of legal entity that is private, that you can change at any time after creating it, and that will survive you for as long as you need, to provide for the ownership, possession, and transfer of any firearms both during your life and afterwards. The service we offer includes preparation of a NFA-compliant gun trust that is tailored to meet your specific needs and wishes, as well as important corresponding documents such as a non-itemized "assignment" of your firearms for privacy purposes, options to designate specific property to specific beneficiaries, and forms to be able to add and remove Trustees at any time. Our attorneys will be available to assist you with designing and implementing your trust through a very simplified and fast process, and for a single flat fee.
